Leaking roof on asbestos testing laboratory
Client: Roof Tech Ltd Auckland
Problem: Leaking roof in asbestos testing laboratory
Proposed solution:
Inside the building is a laboratory which specialises in asbestos testing, so replacing with a new roof wasn’t an option, as the laboratory would have needed to be shut down for 2 weeks minimum. On the roof were lots of vents and air-conditioning units, so re-installing would be very costly and time-consuming. With Liquid Rubber you can leave all the vents and air-conditioning units fixed.
- Liquid Rubber
- Surface of the roof: 800m2
- Substrate: Thin
- Products used: 40x 20L Liquid Rubber, 40x 15L Smoothcoat, 12x rolls of Seam Tape
- Equipment used: Graco Mark5, brush, roller
Implementation:
The roof was cleaned with Cohe Quick Clean and then water blasted. The following day a seamless membrane waterproof sealant was sprayed on. Four days later we sprayed 2 layers of our Smooth Coat (top coat).
By using Liquid Rubber we were able to halve the price of re-roofing plus give the client a 20-year warranty on the coating.
Result:
The customer is very happy with the results and Roof Tech has been asked to do more projects for the customer along with regular maintenance on the existing roofs.
