Re-Waterproofing Apartment Butynol Roof
Client – Killbryde Apartments
Problem:
We were called in to re-waterproof this Apartment building after the current butynol substrate was failing.
Solution:
Unlike conventional roofing membranes, Liquid Rubber can be sprayed directly over the existing substrate reducing time and money, without exposing the interior to rainy weather.
This 450m² roof was completed in a little over 5 days. Firstly, the surface was power washed and the seams were painted over in Liquid Rubber Waterproof Sealant before being sprayed with Liquid Rubber Instant set membrane. This was followed by painting over with Liquid Rubber A-200 that has excellent UV resistance and a Solar Reflectivity Index rating over 0.9 to help meet cool roof requirements.
Waterproof Sealant is easy to apply using a brush, roller or spray pump and can be applied to most common surfaces. To protect Liquid Rubber Waterproof Sealant from New Zealand’s harsh UV rays and increase the performance and life of the product, it is recommended that one of our Topcoats are applied over Waterproof Sealant.
Liquid Rubber is water-based, non-toxic, solvent-free and contains no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) so is safe for both the person applying the product and the environment.
Result:
The roof is now a complete seamless membrane fully adhered to the older substrate and more importantly, no more leaks!!
